The Town of Camp Verde has 10,000 residents. It's at 3100 elevation, and the area is known for it's vineyards. It's dubbed little Napa Valley. Camp Verde is about 45 minutes from beautiful Sedona and about 20 minutes from shopping in Cottonwood, including a Walmart, JCPenney's, numerous grocery stores. Camp Verde has a Bashas, Ace hardware, NAPA auto parts, doctor's offices, and numerous other stores and restaurants. The Verde Valley encompasses Sedona, Cottonwood, Cornville, Rimrock, and Camp Verde. The Verde river meanders throughout the Verde Valley. There are numerous creeks in the area and lots of outdoor recreation. Our favorite swimming hole is at Beaver Creek Outdoor recreation area, it used to be Beaver Creek Campground. It's off the I-17 going east on HWY 179. The temperatures in the area are moderate, averaging in the low 100's in June and daytime temperatures in January are about 60. We usually get 1 light dusting of snow per winter.
